Hoang Van Thu Primary school is considered as one of the biggest primary school in Lao Cai City. With almost over 1000 students, ranging from grade 1 to 5, the school is also the only school with a big TV-like screen in the middle of the school yard. Students can eat lunch and sleep there during the long lunch break, as well. The school has four English teachers who are responsible for their respective grades.
my experience in this school
My experience in Hoang Van Thu primary school was nice overall. My volunteer task was being an English teaching assistant from grade 1 to 5. Each grade has their own English teacher, hence when I assisted in grade 2 I followed a different teacher when I assisted in grade 4. My tasks were mainly teaching the students new vocabularies and speaking skills (like pronunciation). The students in every grade can be naughty sometimes but they can be lovely and nice, too. I worked everyday from 7.30 till 4 pm.
